Kevin Pike is the president of Filmtrix, Inc., where he works as a writer's consultant and story developer for studios and production companies. He assists writers in completing their scripts and advises them on how to pitch their work to producers.
Kevin began his career as a local hire for Universal's Jaws (1975). While working as a busboy on Martha's Vineyard, he joined the crew, taking on roles as a laborer, carpenter, painter, and later contributing to the shark's special effects. After filming wrapped on location, he moved to Hollywood and started on Paramount's Islands in the Stream (1977), again working on shark effects.
After several years working under seasoned Special Effects professionals within the studio system, Kevin advanced to Supervisor. He supervised a number of distinguished films, collaborating with renowned directors such as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, John Schlesinger, Tim Burton, Taylor Hackford, Gore Verbinski, Jan de Bont, and David Fincher.
Throughout his career, Kevin has received multiple accolades, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Special Visual Effects (1994/95) for Earth 2 (1995). He was also considered for an Oscar nomination for Back to the Future (1985), directed by Robert Zemeckis. Additionally, he won a Clio Award for Best Special Effects in 2000 for the Levi "Invisible Man" commercial directed by Michael Bay. Beyond his extensive work in Special Effects,
Kevin holds memberships in the Directors Guild of America (DGA), SAG-AFTRA, and BAFTA. He frequently serves on the Special Visual Effects Committees for both the Oscars and Emmys and has served two terms as a Governor for the Emmy Academy.
After 45 years in the industry, Kevin now works as a screenwriting consultant from his home north of Los Angeles, California.
