Annie Lee was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She discovered her passion for acting at age 9 and attended UCLA's Young Performer's Workshop. Although she initially pursued a career in the medical field during high school, destiny led her back to entertainment. She was discovered for modeling, print work, runway shows, commercials, and music videos. In college, her love for performing was reignited through Children's Theatre, and she trained with esteemed Hollywood acting coaches including Brian Reise, David Kagen, Catlin Adams, and Doug Warhit.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA, she explored the production and distribution side of entertainment, working with companies like First Look Pictures and collaborating with producers such as Doug Claybourne (known for North Country and The Fast and the Furious) while continuing her acting career.
Annie currently stars in the Christian film "Rose of Sharon," directed by Elliot Hong. Filmed in beautiful locations across Israel, the Holy Land, this heartfelt story is set for release in April 2006 in Korea, followed by a US release. Her feature film debut was in "Close Call," which premiered in the US in April 2004.
As a filmmaker, she produced the 2002 short film Tomato and Eggs, directed by Shawn Chou and featuring Lisa Lu (The Joy Luck Club), Michelle Krusiec (HBO’s Mind of a Married Man), Keiko Agena (WB’s Gilmore Girls), and Sab Shimono (The Big Hit). The film won the Audience Award for Best Asian-American Short Film at the Big Bear Film Festival.
Her recent work includes acting and producing, along with active participation in various independent projects. She has coached children at the LA Performing Arts Center, volunteered with the Teen Theatre department at the Korean Youth Community Center, and is a member of the award-winning Lodestone Theatre Ensemble. As an entrepreneur, she owns a retail clothing store called CHIC Collection. Ms. Lee continues to refine her skills in acting and filmmaking and is passionate about becoming a producer and director.
