Cybelle Brown has over 20 years of sales, marketing, branding, and business development experience. She began her career in tourism in 1994 with the then Saint Lucia Tourist Board, (now SLTA) as Manager of the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival. During this period, she launched the Jazz Retail Business, opening the "Jazz Shop". She also developed the production manual for the festival which became a prototype for the festival for many years.
In 1997, Cybelle left the Tourist Board to manage her family's business, Stonefield Villa Resort, adding a new dimension to her professional career. She established a solid foundation for the business by securing contracts and partnerships for the resort with the travel trade and consumer entities such as tour operators, travel agents, print media, and television networks in Canada, the US and the UK.
Cybelle's professional journey continued in 1999 when she joined the Air Jamaica Vacations Miami team, leading the marketing for the Eastern Caribbean market. In this new role, she developed and executed successful public and private sector partnerships for the islands of Saint Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, Bonaire, and Curacao. She also successfully launched a media partnership with BET Networks entitled: "Island of the Month on BET".
Her career was further enhanced in June 2000 when she accepted a full time position at BET Networks Washington DC, as a Sales and Marketing Media executive. She quickly became a top-performing senior executive at BET's parent company, Viacom, which eventually led to more senior positions within the Fortune 500 Company, during her fourteen-year period of employment with the organization. During her time with BET Networks, she undertook the rebranding and launching of two BET Networks - BETJ and Centric. She was promoted to the position of Vice President of Integrated Marketing for BET Networks, moving from DC operations to the New York Viacom office, managing the company's sales team, boosting sales and earning millions in incremental revenue for the company by leveraging BET and Viacom platforms inclusive of television, digital, mobile, print and outdoor. Her vast experience includes the management of BET's event production company and leading the production of over 50 hours of television and digital content as Executive Producer.
Additionally, Cybelle was the executive in charge of managing BET's movie studio business and developed marketing partnerships and creative promotions for new releases with Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Paramount, and Disney.
Throughout her 14-year career at Viacom, she represented BET on the Viacom Marketing Council, which comprised of the CMO's for all Viacom companies and management entities, including MTV, VH1, Spike TV, CMT, Comedy Central, Paramount Studios, Logo, Nickelodeon, Viacom Plus, and BET Networks.
Cybelle is married to American Don Gross and they have a four-year-old daughter. She now works as a consultant running her own business - Brown Project Solutions.
