Michael Cuomo is an acclaimed actor and producer in film, television, and theater. He co-starred in and produced the dramatic feature films "What Breaks the Ice" (dir: Rebecca Eskreis; Woodstock Opening Night Film) and "The Light of the Moon" (dir: Jessica M. Thompson; SXSW Audience Award), both available on Showtime and Amazon. Michael also starred in and produced the critically praised feature "Happy New Year" (dir: K Lorrel Manning), which premiered at SXSW and the Hamptons International Film Festivals, receiving strong reviews and winning six awards, including Best Actor for Cuomo and Breakout Director for Manning.
Recently, Michael produced the coming-of-age feature "Brooklyn, Minnesota" (dirs: Jessica Blank & Erik Jensen), starring Academy Award nominee Amy Madigan ("Twice in a Lifetime," "Field of Dreams," "Uncle Buck"), Erik Jensen ("The Walking Dead"), and Cullen Moss ("Outer Banks," "Your Honor"). He also produced the workplace comedy TV pilot "Here She Comes" (dir: Jessica Habie) starring Miranda Rae Mayo ("Chicago Fire").
Other recent film and TV credits include: "Nanny" (dir. Nikyatu Jusu; Sundance Jury Winner), "Life & Beth" (dir. Amy Schumer; Hulu), "Billions" (dir. Shaz Bennett; Showtime), "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" (dir. Amy Sherman-Palladino; Amazon), "Orange Is the New Black" (dir. Nick Sandow; Netflix), and "Daniel Isn't Real" (dir. Adam Egypt Mortimer; Samuel Goldwyn).
Michael received the Ambassador Award at the 40th Rhode Island International Film Festival, an Academy Awards qualifying festival for short films.
He has performed at numerous Off-Broadway theaters in NYC, including Rattlestick, The Actor's Studio, Naked Angels, Dixon Place, and The Barrow Group. His national commercial campaigns feature brands such as Bank of America, Travelocity, Samsung (with Eli Manning), AT&T, Bailey's, SEAT Ibiza, Levissima, and General Electric.
Michael is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
He graduated from Loyola University of Maryland and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
