Dean England began his career in entertainment as an entertainment, military, and general reporter for Q106, one of North America's and San Diego's top FM stations at the time. His interviews and press conferences featured notable figures such as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Iran-Contra figure Oliver North, Vice President Dan Quayle, and numerous celebrities.
During this period, Dean appeared as a reporter in the TV shows "Renegade" with Lorenzo Lamas and "Silk Stalkings" with Rob Estes. Though tempted by acting, he remained focused on his reporting career.
Seeking to transition into television news, Dean left California, drove to Mesa, Arizona, and hoped to be hired by a local TV station. After countless nights sleeping in his car and traveling thousands of miles across multiple states, knocking on doors at TV stations in rural areas, he eventually accepted a weekend anchor position in South Texas while returning from South Carolina. He recorded this journey on video.
Armed with a TV anchor/reporter demo reel, he took another chance without securing a job first, landing at a small independent station in Victorville, California, about two hours from Los Angeles. A highlight of this tenure was meeting Roy Rogers.
Taking another risk, he moved to Los Angeles without a job. Among hundreds auditioning, he was selected as a Universal Studios Hollywood tram tour guide, swapping news scripts for lines like "Watch out for that shark!" For fun, he also appeared as a featured extra portraying an Oscar nominee in "Naked Gun 33 1/3" alongside Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley, and Anna Nicole Smith.
He then filled in as a per diem news writer for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles during a Christmas holiday, which became a full-time writer/producer role. He produced newscasts featuring Jane Velez-Mitchell and Pat Harvey for CNN. Simultaneously, he worked as a weekend reporter for ABC affiliate KESQ-TV in Palm Springs.
Dean transitioned to E! Entertainment Television as a script supervisor, eventually becoming one of the head writers. His credits include "Wild On" with Brooke Burke and "Live from the Red Carpet" (Oscars, Grammys, Emmys) with Joan Rivers.
In March 2012, Dean returned to on-camera work. Since then, he has co-starred in short films, feature films, TV shows, and appeared in various commercials.
Throughout, he continues to write and produce television and movie projects behind the scenes.
