Carol began her career with the acclaimed multimedia company Jim Sant Andrea Productions, landing her first feature role as an illustrator on the 1986 film Touch and Go. Today, she is a recognized production designer, art director, and illustrator with over 25 films to her credit, including 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), Life Without Dick (2002), Prefontaine (1997), Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves! (1997), Beaches (1988), Pretty Woman (1990), Heat (1986), Backdraft (1991), Mr. Saturday Night (1992), and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995).
She earned a nomination for a production design award of excellence from her peers for her work on the pilot episode of Seven Days (1998). Following the events of 9/11, Carol collaborated with Sony to create virtual environments for interactive U.S. Army training. Her artistic talent and vision have elevated corporate theater projects for clients such as American Express, TWA, Nissan, Volvo, and IBM. Carol’s family is deeply rooted in show business: her husband, Bob Baranick, is a former Disney Imagineer and renowned master planner and theme park designer. Her brother, Ira David Wood III, serves as the creative director of Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, while her niece and nephew, Ira David Wood IV and Evan Rachel Wood, are both actors.
