Kimee Balmilero, a Filipino American actor born in Hawaii, is best recognized for her recurring role as Medical Examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha on CBS's Hawaii Five-0 (2010) and Magnum P.I. (2018). She was also a series regular in the ABC pilot Josep (2022), portraying Geraldine, the sister of comedian Jo Koy. Her other notable work includes Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. (2021) on Disney+, Two Tickets to Paradise (2022) on the Hallmark Channel, the Daytime Emmy-nominated children's musical series Hi-5 (2003), the original Broadway cast of Mamma Mia, and the second National Touring Company of Miss Saigon. Kimee trained in improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Hollywood and performs with the ongoing show Filipino AF when in Los Angeles.
After returning to Hawaii in 2012, Kimee founded Improv Hawaii (improvhi), where she serves as the "Head Sillypino," leading the company focused on sketch and improv comedy in Hawaii.
In March 2015, she created and produced Hawaii’s first Comedy Festival at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theater. The festival has grown steadily, launching a junior edition in spring 2020 and debuting Polynesian AF in 2021, a comedy variety show spotlighting Hawaii-based Polynesian artists.
In May 2018, Kimee produced and directed The Last Five Years as the inaugural production of her Honolulu theater company, Stage Fish.
In March 2020, Kimee and her husband, John LeBlanc, opened Tiny Stage Hawaii, a compact but vibrant creative venue in Kakaako.
In her free time, Kimee enjoys karaoke, garage sales, diner spaghetti, imagining herself on Top Chef (2006), and dreaming of sinigang. She also loves gazing at her husband’s face.
