He is the sixth of eight children of singer and actor Antonio Molina; brother to Ángela, Paula, Mónica, and Noel, and uncle to Olivia Molina. He has four children: Clara and Adrián, from his relationship with model Kirsa van Pallandt; Andrea, from his relationship with actress Lydia Bosch; and Antonio, from his relationship with Icelandic screenwriter and director Katrin Olafsdóttir.
Passionate about acting from an early age, he made his debut in 1980 with the film Maravillas, directed by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, playing the role of Miki—a nickname he later adopted professionally. Shortly after, he starred in 1919: "Crónica del alba," for which he received the Revelation Actor award at the 1981 San Sebastian Film Festival. This film continued the adaptation of Ramón J. Sender's novel, the first part of which featured Jorge Sanz.
In 1987, he appeared in one of the leading roles in Pedro Almodóvar's Law of Desire, portraying a handsome, independent-spirited bisexual young man. He reunited with Gutiérrez Aragón to lead Malaventura (1988).
His television work is notable as well: in 1993, he starred alongside Alfredo Landa, Beatriz Carvajal, and Lydia Bosch in the series "Por favor, señor, señor," earning a nomination for the Actors' Union Awards. In 1995, he appeared in "Quién da la vez," both series successfully aired on Antena 3 Televisión.
In 2002, he took part in the series "Ana y los 7." In 2005, he ventured into music, releasing the album "Desconocido Miki." That same year, he produced the theater play 5gays.com, balancing this with various film projects. The play 5gays.com was highly successful.
His theater work includes participating in the 1989 production of Federico García Lorca's "Así que pasen cinco años." In 1994, he performed in "Mariposas negras," directed by Manuel Canseco and written by Jaime Salom.
He made his debut at the Teatro Romano de Mérida in 1995 with Euripides' "Hippolytus," alongside María Asquerino and Juan Diego. Three years later, he took part in Miguel de Cervantes' "El cerco de Numancia," also premiered at the Teatro Romano de Mérida. In 1998, he appeared in Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap," with Jaime Blanch. After portraying Ulysses in "Ítaca," an adaptation of Homer's Odyssey produced and premiered at the Spanish Theater and later at the Classical Theater Festival of Mérida in 2006, he returned to the stage as producer and lead actor in "Uncle Bob," a play by American playwright Austin Pendleton blending drama and social critique.
His recent theatrical projects include "De Miguel a Miguel," premiered in 2010, which brings to life the esteemed poet Miguel Hernández. In 2012, he directed "La última luz del día" with the Sa Penya Escènica company.
In 2017, he starred in Vicente Pérez Herrero's film "El collar de la sal" and also appeared in a film by Alfredo Contreras that same year.
Among his latest film roles are performances in "Me llamo Genet," "Gina," "Burga," and "El secreto de Ibosim."
Currently, he has just completed shooting "...un tiempo precioso," his directorial debut, in which he also served as screenwriter. The feature film was shot between Madrid and Ibiza and features actors Saturnino García and Carlos Pulido.
