Monica Levinson is a prolific film and television producer with a broad and varied career. Collaborating with leading innovators in entertainment, she is widely recognized for her dedication to preserving and advancing the creative elements of filmmaking while maintaining strong fiscal discipline.
Her recent work includes BORAT SUBSEQUENT MOVIEFILM, which earned her the 2021 Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and a Producers Guild nomination for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. Other credits include Tara Miele's WANDER DARKLY, David Oyelowo's THE WATER MAN, Aaron Sorkin's THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7, and CW's virtual benefit "Women In Film: Make it Work!" promoting the WIG #HireHerBack initiative.
Levinson was President of Production at ShivHans Pictures from its founding in 2014 until 2019, managing all facets of film and television development, production, post-production, financing, and distribution. During her tenure, she produced notable titles such as TRUMBO, CAPTAIN FANTASTIC, BEIRUT, THE POLKA KING, and BRIAN BANKS.
Prior to ShivHans, her credits include BORAT, BRUNO, ZOOLANDER, DODGEBALL, and Larry David's CLEAR HISTORY. She began her career in broadcast news in Washington, D.C., before transitioning into narrative storytelling, working with visionary directors like Alan J. Pakula and Sidney Lumet.
Levinson serves on the executive boards of AMPAS (Producers Branch), PGA, and DGA, and is part of the leadership team for the Women's Production Society. On her productions, she initiated a training program for underrepresented groups, co-founded INDIE to support independent films, mentors emerging filmmakers, and frequently guest lectures at universities.
