Sharat Saxena is an Indian actor known for his work in Bollywood, having appeared in nearly 160 films. Beginning his career in the early 1970s, he primarily portrayed supporting characters such as fathers, uncles, or villains. He has featured in some of Bollywood's most successful movies, including Mr. India, Tridev, Ghayal, Khiladi, Gupt: The Hidden Truth, Soldier, Baghban, Fanaa, Krrish, and Ek Hi Raasta (1993), among others. His performances have earned him a reputation as one of Bollywood's finest supporting actors. Additionally, he has acted in numerous Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil films. Saxena played Kichaka in the popular TV series Mahabharat and received a Filmfare Best Villain Award nomination for Ghulam (1998). As of 2011, he resides in Madh Island near Mumbai with his wife Shobha, their two children Veera and Vishal, and their dog Razor.
Originally from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Sharat graduated in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Jabalpur Engineering College. Pursuing his passion for acting, he moved to Mumbai in 1972. Due to his physique, he was often cast as a henchman. His first film release was Benaam (1974), followed by roles in Dil Dewana, Agent Vinod, Kaala Patthar, and others.
