Mitch Hara (Actor/Writer/Director) grew up with speed-freak alcoholic parents, an upbringing that influenced his distinctive voice and quirky perspective. His creativity was also shaped by drugs, cookies, and chaos. At 19, he moved to New York City after being invited to join the prestigious Actors Studio. There, he performed in numerous off-Broadway plays, comedy clubs, Studio 54, and even spent time in rehab. While pole dancing on 42nd Street, he was called to Los Angeles to work on the pilot Burp-and-It-Was-Gone, Eddie Dodd with Treat Williams. Mitch has guest-starred on many TV series, including a recurring role on ER as Stanley, a suicidal mental patient, along with roles in several pilots and films such as playing a snuff-film producer and Latin Jerry in THE ART OF DYING. He has appeared in 11 indie films portraying characters ranging from a "Harley-hitman" to a "bipolar nurse." Hara is known for blending humor and humanity into even the darkest roles. He has written, acted in, and directed five critically acclaimed plays, earning multiple awards. His recent acting work includes a co-starring role in the AMC/Peacock pilot I RUN HOT, directed by Ilana Glazer, and playing TayTay, a manipulative executive assistant, in the pilot SUNNY'S CLOSET. Mitch co-wrote and co-starred in the short-form series SMOTHERED Seasons 1 & 2, which went viral on Amazon Prime and was named a "Top 10 to Binge." The series premiered at Sony Pictures in the John Singleton Theatre. Currently, Mitch is performing his award-winning solo show MUTANT OLIVE 2.0 in Hollywood to rave reviews and is preparing for tours in NYC, Chicago, London, and Edinburgh, directed by Carlyle King. His ongoing projects include the screenplay IT WILL ALWAYS BE LUNCH, a gay Aunty Mame meets Rain Man meets Kramer vs. Kramer story about his relationship with his 11-year-old nephew with Asperger’s; the dark comedy PARTY TIME, exploring destiny, annoying angels, and cancer; and a limited series adaptation of MUTANT OLIVE, titled MOMMY'S A WHORE, DADDY'S A HITMAN. Mitch has worked, directed, or shared scenes with John Travolta, Maura Tierney, Susan Lucci, Sally Kirkland, John Savage, Angela Lansbury, Doris Roberts, Joe Manganiello, Karen Black, Marlon Wayans, Eliot Glazer, Colton Haynes, and many others in NYC. He lives by the motto, "I never take 'no' for an answer. For me, everything is YES. So 'no' is just a slow yes.
