Lindsey graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and the Humber School of Comedy Writing and Performance. Raised in Toronto and Montreal, she began acting professionally at age 10, starring as the lead in Young People's Theatre's musical production of 'Babe'. After numerous musicals and movies-of-the-week, Lindsey traveled to London, U.K., for rigorous classical theatre training at LAMDA. In her late 20s, she developed a passion for improvisation, sketch comedy, and screenwriting, which led her to Second City and the Humber School of Comedy Writing and Performance. Despite early struggles with stand-up, Lindsey refined her comedic skills at L.A.’s renowned Groundlings school, where she created many short stories and two film scripts. Returning to Toronto, she wrote, directed, and starred in "Two Doors Twice" at the Toronto Fringe Theatre, gaining recognition for her writing and screenplays. Lindsey was a quarterfinalist for the Nicholls Fellowship, won the Screenplay Getaway Prize at the Worldwide Short Film Festival, and was shortlisted for the CBC literary prize. She also wrote and directed two award-winning short films: The Big 1-0, featuring then-husband Jim Allodi, and Bare Knuckle Duet, a magic realism piece filmed when she was eight and a half months pregnant. Both films enjoyed successful festival runs. As her writing career flourished, Lindsey continued acting in film and television but grew aware of the scarcity of compelling roles for women in their 40s. While raising her children, she launched "Tense and Urgent," a stationery and greeting card company inspired by her illustrations and dark humor. She also transitioned into teaching, supporting writers in developing their screenplays as Script Development Officer at the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto for four years. Discovering a greater love for nurturing writers than the writing itself, Lindsey pursued coaching. Certified by the Co-Active Coaching Academy with extensive training at the Attention Deficit Disorder Coaching Academy (ADDCA), she strives to illuminate the strengths of all her clients, whether they have ADHD or work in creative fields. Lindsey currently lives in Toronto with her two children, aged 9 and 11.
