Marina Prior is recognized as Australia's premier leading lady of stage and screen. In the 2023 King's Birthday Honours, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia. She is best known for her portrayal of Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, a role she performed for over three years. Marina has also shared the stage with international stars such as Richard Harris, José Carreras, and the vocal group Il Divo. Throughout her career, she has led in more than thirty productions, including The Pirates of Penzance, Cats, Les Miserables, Die Fledermaus, Anything Goes, West Side Story, The Secret Garden, Showboat, The Merry Widow, The Witches of Eastwick, Noises Off, Harp on the Willow, Annie Get Your Gun, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Hypocrite, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Guys & Dolls, Mary Poppins, Promises Promises, The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, Hay Fever, Dream Lover, 9 to 5 The Musical, Follies, and Kimberly Akimbo. Television audiences know her from appearances on Carols by Candlelight and as a judge on Channel Seven's hit show It Takes Two. In 2015, she starred in the ABC series The Divorce. Her discography includes Leading Lady, which achieved platinum status; Aspects of Andrew Lloyd Webber, which went gold and earned her an ARIA Award nomination; Somewhere - the Songs of Sondheim and Bernstein; and more recent albums Both Sides Now, Encore, and Christmas Candlelight. Marina has received numerous awards for her stage performances and was honored with an Advance Australia Award for her contributions to the performing arts. In 1999, the television program This is Your Life celebrated her career with a surprise tribute on stage. In 2006, she was inducted into Australia's 100 Entertainers of the Century.
