Ilan Rozenfeld is an Israeli scriptwriter, actor, and director known for various TV shows and series. Born on January 10, 1980, in Rehovot, Israel, he currently resides in Tel Aviv, is married, and has two children. During his military service in the Israeli Defense Forces (1999-2002), he served as head writer and actor in the IDF theater department. There, he wrote and starred in the popular comedy sketch show "Ma Kara Milchama?" (What Happened? War?). This show led to his discovery by TEDI Productions, one of Israel's largest production companies, which signed him. From 2003 to 2015, he created, wrote, and starred in the children's channel sitcom "HaPijamot" (The Pyjamas), which ran for nine seasons and 223 episodes. The series won the Best TV Series award on the children's channel in 2003 and 2010, as well as Best TV Comedy at the Teen Awards in 2008, 2009, and 2010. The ninth season aired on January 4, 2015. As of 2019, it remains the longest-running sitcom in Israeli television history. The show also inspired several spin-offs and a musical that Ilan created, wrote, and starred in. In 2004, he was the creator, main writer, and star of the daily music channel show "Tzarevet" (Heartburn), which aired 38 episodes. Between May 28, 2009, and July 7, 2012, he created and served as the main writer for the TV series "Hatzuya" (Split), which ran for three seasons and 150 episodes. "Hatzuya" became one of the most internationally sold Israeli TV series, distributed to 82 countries and dubbed or translated into over 15 languages. It was also remade in Russia. On stage, he created and wrote the musical "Kmo Gdolim" (Like Grown-ups), featuring songs by Arik Eisenstein, which premiered in theaters in 2019. Additionally, Ilan starred in the comedy show "Yatza Mishlita" (Out of Control), which was performed in theaters in 2016.
