Houston Curtis is the co-founder and CEO of Outlaw Media Group, LLC. A former MTV network executive and creator of niche-driven, multi-million dollar entertainment brands, he has been recognized by peers as a "visionary" and "trailblazer." With over 20 years of experience, Houston has excelled as a producer, executive producer, showrunner, direct marketing expert, independent label president, writer, speaker, and entertainment consultant.
Previously, Mr. Curtis founded and led startups including Backyard Wrestling Inc., Xtreme Entertainment Group, Big Vision Entertainment, and Legend Group Studios. Together, these companies have generated over $100 million in revenue through content rights exploitation since their founding in 1999, 2001, 2003, and 2014. Houston has also created and executive produced shows, films, and various television programs for major networks and studios such as FOX, MTV, CBS, A&E, GSN, G4, DirecTV, Warner Brothers, Sony Studios, and Twentieth Television.
Specialties include film and television production with a focus on alternative, reality, and documentary programming; strip/syndication talk formats and game show programming; extensive trailer and sizzle reel production; independent features; home video distribution via retail, PPV, and digital channels; commercial and music video production; infotainment and infomercial production; as well as independent film production, acquisition, and distribution.
Houston is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS).
