Buffalo-native director Peter Ney’s passion for film ignited when the legendary Robert Redford came to town to shoot "The Natural." Witnessing the excitement and energy of the production captivated Ney. After studying at the State University of New York at Fredonia, he headed west to Hollywood. There, he gained experience behind the scenes on television shows like Solid Gold and The Tonight Show.
Driven to refine his craft, Ney quickly advanced to Director of Photography. His work on various shows, including the acclaimed series Hard Copy, kept him on the Paramount Studios lot for over ten years. This proximity to numerous productions fueled his ambition to transition into film and provided a comprehensive education in both film and television industries.
Since shifting his focus to directing, Ney has led many network and cable shows to success, becoming one of Hollywood’s top non-scripted directors. His achievements earned him a DGA award nomination in 2013, along with an impressive list of credits such as Face Off, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, Food Network Star, The Pickup Artist, Roseanne’s Nutz, Last Comic Standing, Paris Hilton’s My New Bff, HGTV Design Star, among others.
One of Ney’s latest projects, "Snack Vs Chef," reached #1 on Netflix’s Best in the US list, surpassing numerous food competition shows.
Having paid his dues and earned his place, Ney is now ready to merge his experience with his original dream: making a movie. He’s excited to bring "3" to life, share this compelling story, and collaborate with talent worldwide.
