Rick Walls, a Philadelphia native, has contributed to over 35 feature films and more than 80 hours of television content. His roles have included assistant director, producer, segment director, and second unit director, collaborating with some of the industry's leading filmmakers. He has directed music videos, live TV segments, reality shows, commercials featured locally and internationally, as well as acclaimed short films. His projects have ranged from zero budget to $65 million, with filming locations spanning 39 U.S. states and countries such as France, Italy, Mexico, Jamaica, and Canada.
His debut project, L-EVATED: The Blunt Truth, earned national TV awards for Best Director and Best Informational Narrative and received recognition from the BBC and Canadian Television. He was later nominated for an Emmy as writer and director for A Philadelphia Environment Story, a documentary highlighting green building initiatives in Philadelphia’s commercial real estate sector.
Rick contributed as Segment Producer/Director on the FOX reality show Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy and worked on Joe Millionaire 2 in Italy. He directed the entire second season of the cable series Seeing Stars. Among his notable works is the supernatural short film Angle, which was officially selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. He also directed an independently produced half-hour single-camera comedy pilot considered by several networks, along with short films featured in festival circuits, including Are You Serious? (L.A. comedy shorts), Infidelity (a stylish office comedy with multiple festival submissions), and Every Dawg Has Day, an urban male-focused LA twist on SATC.
Rick has completed shadow directing episodes of Hawaii 5-0 and Criminal Minds and is listed to direct episodes of these series. He is currently in pre-production to direct the erotic thriller The Distraction (2015), which is scheduled to screen at the Bahamas Film Festival in 2016.
