Sebastian Zurita is the Creator, Director, Executive Producer, and Star of "How to Survive Being Single," Amazon's first worldwide scripted Spanish comedy original. Born in Mexico City, Sebastian moved to Miami at 16. After earning a degree in international business with a minor in economics, he relocated to LA to study at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, where he trained for nearly two years. He made his debut with the feature film Angel Caído, in which he starred and co-produced, launching a promising career.
Following his studies with Susan Batson in New York, Televisa networks cast him in his first leading role in Mexican telenovelas. His debut, "En Nombre del Amor," won him best actor and became the most-watched soap opera globally. He then advanced to prime time with "Corazón Salvaje." His rapid rise earned him multiple awards and made him a household name in the Latin market, leading to co-hosting events including a fashion fest with Alessandra Ambrosio.
Seeking new challenges, Sebastian ventured into theater and film. He starred in legendary director Felipe Cazals' "Ciudadano Buelna," earning the La Diosa de Plata award for best film actor. He later appeared in Manolo Caro's play "Cama Para Dos," which was a major success, and was cast in Caro's film "Amor de Mis Amores" and Gustavo Moheno's "Eddie Reynolds y Los Ángeles de Acero." In one year, Sebastian worked on five projects across film, series, theater, and a record-breaking Telemundo soap opera.
Unsatisfied with acting alone, Sebastian returned to his academic roots and founded his production company, Addiction House. The company has developed four feature films, including his first international project, "I Was There," filmed entirely in New York City. In 2015, he became the face of Calvin Klein. His last three films—"Tres Idiotas," "Cómo Cortar a Tu Patán," and Issa López's "Todo Mal"—ranked among the top five Mexican box office hits in 2017. That year, he also produced and directed "Class Enemy" by Nigel Williams, Addiction House's first theatrical production in Mexico.
Upcoming projects include a musical created and written by Sebastian and his brother Emiliano Zurita, co-produced by Tony Award winner Chet Walker, featuring music by Jarabe de Palo. They are also developing two TV series—one with Sony Pictures and another with Amazon Prime—all created, written, directed, produced, and starring the brothers. Collaborating with British multi-award winner Shaun McKenna, they are adapting their latest play, "Thinking Too Loud!", for the London stage.
Sebastian’s latest film, "Si Yo Fuera Tú" by Alejandro Lubezki, opened to great success as his fifth film to debut in Mexico’s top five. His recent show, "El Juego de las Llaves," has become a staple on Amazon Prime and the all-time number one show for Pantaya in the US. He made his US debut in the series "The Oath" and has since appeared in "Luis Miguel, La Serie" and Netflix’s "Bankrolled."
He is currently awaiting the release of "How to Survive Being Single" seasons 2 and 3, "El Galán" for Disney, and "Tequila Reposado" for Sony. Addiction House has over 20 titles in various development stages, with "Champions Gym" as its latest show optioned by Sony.
