Biographie
Andrew Racho is an actor, writer, director, and artist, primarily recognized for his work in animation.
After earning a degree in Television, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University in 2004, Andrew relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. After several months of job searching, he came across a Craigslist listing in October 2004 for an internship on an untitled stop-motion animated series. At the time, his knowledge of stop-motion was limited to thinking, "it's like The Nightmare Before Christmas, right?" He accepted the position. The show turned out to be Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken, where Andrew contributed to over 100 episodes, as well as working on Moral Orel, Frankenhole, and Titan Maximum.
While working as a visual effects and graphic artist, Andrew discovered his passion for acting, especially voice-over work. His interest was sparked during his first class with Starcraft actor Robert Clotworthy. He then trained in the Meisner Technique at the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studios and continued refining his voice-over skills. He also created most of the behind-the-scenes videos for the first five seasons of Robot Chicken, learning from industry professionals and observing top talent performing voice-over work.
Though Andrew has extensive experience in commercial, theatrical, and animated projects, he credits his major breakthrough in voice acting to Adam De La Peña, who cast him in a leading role in Geek and Sundry's animated series Outlands. He continues to collaborate with Adam on various projects.
Andrew is also the creator of the weekly comic strip Convenience Store Diet, recently completing its fourth volume. Convenience Store Diet is currently being adapted into several animated shorts and an animated episode, both written by and starring Andrew.
Today, Andrew's voice can be heard in numerous animated series, including Comedy Central's TripTank. He is frequently hired to direct animation and voice-over sessions, often working with celebrity talent.
