Biographie
Peachanda DuBose is an award-winning filmmaker, playwright, screenwriter, director, author, poet, producer, humanitarian, and activist. Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, she was raised in Virginia's Hampton Roads region and later found her creative stride in North Carolina. In 2010, she founded Mayan Productions LLC, a company dedicated to producing powerful, real-life stories that spark dialogue, inspire change, and reflect the human experience across both stage and screen.
DuBose is the recipient of two NAACP Awards and has earned over 50 awards throughout her career, recognizing her fearless storytelling and commitment to excellence. Her acclaimed stage musical Ferguson-inspired by real-life events-toured nationally to critical and audience acclaim. She is also the founder and CEO of Peach TV®, her own streaming network. As the first woman to own a streaming platform featuring content exclusively written, directed, and produced by herself, DuBose continues to break barriers while redefining creative ownership and artistic freedom.
In 2022, DuBose launched the PEACH Theatre & Film International Festival, a global platform celebrating diverse voices and fostering creative collaboration in the performing arts and filmmaking communities.
At the age of 35, DuBose discovered her true calling, when she wrote her first play. To date, her work across theatre and film is known for its bold honesty, emotional resonance, and devotion to amplifying underrepresented voices.
Now based in California with her two young adult children, DuBose continues to expand her body of work on a global scale.
