Biographie
Todd Lieberman is an Oscar and Emmy-winning producer and the founder of Hidden Pictures, a film and television production company dedicated to telling premium stories centered on self-discovery, purpose, and the significance of time and place. Hidden Pictures emphasizes sharing narratives that inspire audiences with a hopeful sense of optimism to carry into their lives. Lieberman is one of the foremost producers in the entertainment industry today, with eight films debuting at number one at the box office. His projects have received 11 Academy Award nominations, winning three.
Lieberman produced Disney’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, featuring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as The Beast. Directed by Bill Condon, the critically acclaimed film shattered box office records worldwide and became the highest-grossing PG-rated movie in North America. The cast also includes Emma Thompson, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Luke Evans, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, and Audra McDonald. In 2018, Beauty and the Beast received two Academy Award nominations for Costume Design and Production Design.
He released Rescue Rangers on Disney+, starring Andy Samberg and John Mulaney, which won the Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie. Lieberman is currently in post-production on White Bird: A Wonder Story, starring Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson, and Shotgun Wedding, featuring Jennifer Lopez, scheduled for release in January 2023. Hidden Pictures, under Lieberman’s leadership, is developing a docu-series for Amazon chronicling the rise and fall of the American Basketball Association. He recently produced HIT & RUN, an action thriller series starring Lior Raz (Fauda) on Netflix.
Before founding Hidden Pictures, Lieberman produced films under the Mandeville Films banner, which he still co-owns. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of international finance and production at Hyde Park Entertainment, which produced and co-financed films such as Anti-Trust, Bandits, and Moonlight Mile.
Lieberman began his career at international sales and distribution powerhouse Summit Entertainment, rapidly advancing after championing the indie hit Memento into production and acquiring the Universal box-office success American Pie.
In 2001, The Hollywood Reporter named Lieberman one of the "35 under 35" rising talents and later listed him among Hollywood’s 30 most powerful producers. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and received the 2022 Penn Alumni of Merit Creative Spirit Award. Lieberman is a member of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences and serves as a judge for the Academy’s Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting. He is also a Television Academy member, a Producers Guild mentor, and an active participant in the Los Angeles chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization. A native of Cleveland, he was honored with the Key to the State of Ohio in 2018. An avid sports enthusiast, Lieberman is a consulting producer for the podcast Inside Baseball and serves on the board of Run 2 Remember Los Angeles, an annual half marathon and 10K event honoring fallen First Responders and their families.
