Biographie
Veronica Marin-Estrada is a Latin Canadian-American actress. She acts, sings, and plays the guitar.
She began her performing career by participating in theatrical roles as a toddler and landed her first commercial at age four. She made her TV debut in Hallmark's "Christmas CEO" as Emma, a spark in the story that brought joy, drama, and comedy to the whole family. In her debut film, directed by Jonathan Wright, she acts along with Marisol Nichols ("Riverdale," "NCIS") and Paul Greene ("When Calls the Heart," "Bitten"). Later, she became the lead actor as Xime in the short film "Vela", directed by Esteban Powell. The short brings heart and emotion as we follow Xime's journey with grief. "Vela" is a story merging Mexican culture with legends of the dead, horror, and drama. In addition to acting in Vela, she provided an additional musical composition to the score. Her latest work was in Hallmark's "Never Too Late to Celebrate" in the role of Izzy. In this film, Hallmark shares insights into the Latin American Quinceañeras that celebrate a daughter's coming of age, family and Hispanic traditions.
In addition to her work in film and television, Veronica has performed in several local plays and musicals. Some of the shows she has been a part of include S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" (as Marcia and the understudy for Cherry), "Newsies" (as Katherine Plumber), "Into The Woods JR" (in the role of Cinderella's Stepmother and others), and most recently, "School of Rock," where she played Rosalie Mullins. Her upcoming show is "Newsies," produced by Innovative Arts in Oakville. Veronica is also a member of Sentir Venezuela Cultural Group, a dance company where she performs traditional folk dances at high-profile festivals across the Greater Toronto Area.
Veronica Marin-Estrada was born in San Ramon, California, USA, and her family is from Venezuela. Veronica had known she would pursue acting ever since she was young. She wanted to continue her love of the performing arts, and she also wanted to represent her culture after years of not seeing any positive Latina or Venezuelan characters on the silver screen. Her love for her craft pushed her to be ambitious and always maintain focus on the hard work it takes to be a part of the arts community. When asked about her experience filming a movie for the first time, she said, "I can't imagine myself doing anything else."
In her personal life, Veronica is involved in social causes in her community and the world. She works with her family to pack boxes for families in need in Venezuela, organizes fundraisers, and spreads awareness by serving as an executive in her high school's equity and cultural council.
