Emerging as a versatile talent in both comedy and drama, Kyla Kenedy is swiftly becoming one of the industry's most in-demand young actresses.
Kenedy currently stars alongside Minnie Driver in ABC's critically acclaimed sitcom "Speechless," which chronicles the daily life of a family with a special-needs child. She portrays 'Dylan,' the family's daughter. The series premiered its second season on September 27th.
This year, Kenedy appeared as 'Briana,' a Cystic Fibrosis patient, on NBC's medical drama "The Night Shift." She is also set to take on multiple roles in Nickelodeon's sketch show "Mack and Beef."
Kenedy is perhaps best known for her breakout role as 'Mika' on AMC's global hit "The Walking Dead," appearing throughout seasons four and five alongside Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. During her time on the series, she hosted "Down n' Dirty," a fan interview YouTube series in partnership with Walker Stalker.
Her television credits also include guest appearances on "Rizzoli & Isles," "CSI," and "The New Normal," the latter earning her a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Actress in a Guest Starring Role.
On the big screen, Kenedy recently appeared in "Love Is All You Need?" opposite Jeremy Sisto and Briana Evigan, winning the Best Actress Audience Award at the 2016 Napa Film Festival. She began her career at age eight in Charleston, South Carolina, booking print and local jobs before relocating to Atlanta, where she expanded into commercials and films. There, she landed a minor role in the Farrelly brothers' film "The Three Stooges." Soon after, she secured her first lead role as the title character in the award-winning TV movie "Raising Izzie," earning both the Grace Award at the 21st Movieguide Awards and a Young Artist Award for Best Actress. Following this success, Kenedy moved to Los Angeles, where she continues to captivate audiences and garner critical praise.
Beyond her acting career, Kenedy is dedicated to philanthropy, supporting organizations like Meals on Wheels and The Children's Hospital of Atlanta. She currently resides in Los Angeles and enjoys reading, traveling, animals, and outdoor activities.
