Biographie
Bruce Blain has held numerous roles, including salesman, bar manager, managing editor, entrepreneur, carpenter, and teacher. However, in 2004, while living in Thailand, he transitioned into film, TV, and voice acting. He quickly made a name for himself, appearing in numerous films and TV commercials, notably alongside Eric Roberts in "The Mark" and Ewan McGregor in "The Impossible" in December 2010, ultimately realizing that acting was his true calling.
After spending 13 years in Southeast Asia, he relocated to Vancouver to focus on acting full-time. Since then, he has had recurring roles on TV shows such as Once Upon a Time (9 episodes in Season 7 as The Desk Sergeant), Riverdale (5 episodes and counting as VIC), and Supernatural (as Dwight Charles and Coach Phil Evans). He has also appeared in many Vancouver-based productions, including films like Max 2: White House Hero, Leprechaun: Origins, Rampage 2 and 3, as well as numerous Hallmark and Lifetime movies. Additionally, he has lent his voice to several commercial campaigns.
Bruce Blain was a dedicated working actor who found great joy in his career. He also wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the award-winning short film "Mad Santa."
On May 15, 2021, Bruce Stewart Blain, beloved father of Jessica Erin Chaisson, passed away at the age of fifty-five at his home in Vancouver, B.C. He is remembered for his adventurous spirit, infectious laughter, strong opinions, determination, and his memorable role as an evil Santa Claus. Bruce is survived by his daughter Jessica, his mother, siblings, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed.
