Biographie
Gharrett Patrick Paon is an acclaimed actor and producer from Nova Scotia. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre's Producer's Lab (2017). In 2017, he established Rebel Road Films, focusing on delivering bespoke creative producing for Canadian auteur filmmakers. Rebel Road Films centers on identity, blending fresh perspectives, exceptional craftsmanship, and landmark performances to spark timely conversations that propel campaigns, launch careers, and foster societal progress.
Rebel Road’s debut feature, "Wildhood" (distributed by Hulu and Mongrel Media), emerged as one of the most celebrated Canadian, Indigenous, and queer films of 2022. The film premiered at TIFF, screened at AFI Fest, and earned a Special Mention at the Palm Springs Film Festival. In 2022, Rebel Road’s projects garnered eight Canadian Screen Award nominations, including Best Motion Picture for "Wildhood," with Joshua Odjick winning Best Supporting Actor. Gharrett also produced Charles Wahl’s "The Mohel" (Ouat Media, SXSW 2021), which won Best Live-Action Short at Palm Springs Shortfest.
His producing portfolio includes "I am Syd Stone" (Roku, Out TV), two seasons of "Spirit Talker" (APTN), and the Screen Nova Scotia Award-winning short "Wildfire." In 2022, he served as line producer and production manager on "Hell of a Summer," written and directed by Finn Wolfhard, which premiered in TIFF’s Midnight Madness program in 2023.
As an actor, Gharrett has received three ACTRA award nominations. In 2021, he portrayed Brandon Keyser in seven episodes of the final season of "The Sinner" (USA Network/Netflix). His other roles include recurring parts on "The Killing" (AMC/Netflix), "Life Unexpected" (CW), "Haven" (Syfy), "Forgive Me" (Superchannel), "Sex & Violence" (OutTV), and a leading role in the Iris Prize-nominated short "I am Syd Stone.
