Biographie
Gavin Averhoff is an American actor, writer, and filmmaker from Nashville, Tennessee, known for emotionally driven coming-of-age stories and independent youth filmmaking. He first began acting at 8 years old in local theater productions, where he developed an early passion for performance and storytelling. At 11, Averhoff started creating skits and short films on YouTube, experimenting with acting, directing, and editing, which led him toward filmmaking. He later joined Smyrna High School’s Audio/Visual Production program, where he developed much of his early credited work. Through the program, he starred as Ryan in the 2024 psychological drama The Strings Attached, a student-produced feature exploring isolation, anxiety, and friendship. He also contributed as a writer on the sketch comedy series The Fifth Block, further expanding his work in both narrative and comedic storytelling. In April 2025, still working within the A/V Production program, Averhoff directed the science-fiction drama Real, centered on artificial humans and questions of identity and humanity. The film premiered at the Smyrna Malco Cinema. That June, Averhoff attended the Governor’s School for the Arts, a competitive three-week summer program that selects students from a pool of over 300 applicants across Tennessee. During the program, he worked on the drama project Fragments of Them (2025), collaborating with other selected student artists in a college-level environment. Averhoff’s work is known for its focus on friendship, identity, and adolescence, reflecting his background in student media and independent filmmaking.
