Biographie
Dawson Dunbar was born on July 14, 1999, in Calgary, Alberta. Following in the footsteps of his brother, Talon Dunbar, he began auditioning at the young age of three. He quickly started booking commercials and made-for-TV movies. By age seven, he was signed with a Vancouver agent, and soon after, Dawson had the chance to explore larger markets, auditioning for local print ads, commercials, films, and television.
Dawson’s television credits include guest roles on Smallville, Supernatural, Men in Trees, Aliens in America, and Psych. One of his early made-for-TV movie appearances was in Touch the Top of the World, where he had the opportunity to work alongside Peter Facinelli. Dawson has also appeared in numerous music videos and web series.
His list of awards began with winning Best Male Performer in Fall 2010 at the Vancouver Short Film Festival (VSFF) for his role as Billy in the short film Trolls. Dawson also received two Young Artist Awards for Best Male Performer under age 10 for his roles as Johnny in the UBC short Little Big Kid in 2011 and as Joey in the SFU short Bred in Captivity in 2012, awarded in Los Angeles.
Many of Dawson’s films are currently circulating in festivals.
Outside of acting, Dawson enjoys hip-hop dance, parkour, reading, bike riding, video gaming, and watching anime. He is inspired by Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, and Jim Carrey, and loves bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.
