Monica Lacy is a versatile actress who seamlessly transitions between comedy and drama. She has portrayed a wide range of characters, from intellectuals to glamorous figures, with her quirky humor and warmth revealing unexpected depths beneath her classic All-American appearance. She will soon appear as the quirky, idealistic soccer mom Sharon Burke in Amazon's The Kicks. Her recent TV guest roles include an MIT computer scientist on CBS's Hawaii Five-O and a distressed wife on ABC's Agents of SHIELD.
Raised on an 'urban farm' in Orange County, CA, Monica honed her persuasive skills winning awards for her dairy goats at the Orange County Fair. Her acting journey began in high school when a talent agent discovered her and her identical triplet sisters, Leanna and Joy. Their charm led Disney to cast them in Parent Trap III and Parent Trap: Hawaiian Honeymoon. They also appeared on Growing Pains and Beverly Hills 90210, and Monica showcased her quick wit during a joint interview on The Johnny Carson Show. While her sisters eventually left the entertainment industry, Monica pursued acting vigorously, landing roles on iconic shows such as Married with Children, Seinfeld, and Party of Five. In film, she has appeared alongside Reese Witherspoon in Freeway, starred in the Sundance Award-winning Possums, and appeared in The Cell with Vincent D'Onofrio. She has also led five hour-long pilots for CBS, MTV, and NBC, including Clyde Phillips’ Time Well Spent and Sorority, starring alongside January Jones and Christina Hendricks.
Monica trained with renowned acting coaches Larry Moss and Howard Fine and studied improv with The Groundlings. She has performed stand-up comedy about her unique upbringing behind the 'Orange Curtain' and appeared in nearly 200 television commercials. Currently, she showcases her physical comedy skills as the charming spokeswoman for AutoNation. Alongside her acting career, Monica earned a BA in English Literature from UCLA and completed its Professional Screenwriting Program.
As a triplet, Monica understands the importance of being recognized for one’s true self. She volunteers with PhotoPiece, a nonprofit that teaches inner-city youth photography to express their perspectives, and supports Phase One, which raises funds for cancer clinical trials. Monica collects contemporary photography, cultivates her own herbs and vegetables, and most cherishes her role as a quirky, idealistic soccer mom to her two intellectually gifted children.
