Biographie
Erika Mader is a director, screenwriter, actress, host, and producer. She started her career performing in theater, television, and film, collaborating with notable figures such as Domingos Oliveira, Hamilton Vaz Pereira, Cacá Diegues, and Matheus Souza.
In 2024, she co-wrote Malu Mader's directorial debut feature film alongside Malu Mader, Tony Bellotto, and Guilherme Gonzalez. The film is currently in pre-production with Giros Filmes and Biônica Filmes.
As a director, Erika wrote, directed, produced, and acted in the short film Se Não Fosse o Onofre (2007), which was selected for the Festival do Rio and the Brazilian Film Festival in Los Angeles. She also directed the pilot episode of the television series Novos Bárbaros (2009), which received a funding grant from the Rio de Janeiro Department of Culture.
Erika directed, produced, translated, and adapted the play Sóbrios (2012) by Adam Rapp, which was recognized as one of the seven best plays in theaters by Veja Rio magazine and listed among the ten best plays of the year by JB Online.
She also directed, produced, and adapted the play Os Insones (2016), based on Tony Bellotto’s novel of the same name, which was selected as one of the five best plays in theaters by Veja Rio magazine. Additionally, she directed, produced, and acted in the play Fauna (2017) by Argentine playwright Romina Paula.
