Biographie
Michelle Purple co-founded Iron Ocean Productions with Jessica Biel, aiming to develop original content and provide a platform that amplifies strong female voices.
They are currently producing Limetown for Facebook, featuring Biel, Marlee Matlin, and Stanley Tucci.
Their latest project, USA Network's limited series The Sinner, earned Biel nominations for Golden Globe, Emmy, and Critics' Choice awards for Best Actress, as well as nominations for both as executive producers. Iron Ocean produced the show's second season starring Carrie Coon and Tracy Letts, and is developing the third season. They are also producing the adaptation of Chris Cleave's novel Gold in partnership with Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions.
Iron Ocean has an extensive development slate, including Camelot with Sonar Entertainment set up at USA Network; The Facts of Life with Appian Way and Norman Lear's Act III set at Sony; Where We Found Her, adapted from Kimberly McCreight's New York Times bestselling book, with UCP; and Bohemian Grove, a period musical with Martin Scorsese.
They produce the reality show Going Dolls for E! and Bravo, and are also developing podcast content.
Iron Ocean developed and produced the 2017 film The Book of Love, starring Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, and Mary Steenburgen.
Michelle Glass began her career in 1996 at DreamWorks/Amblin Entertainment, spending three years learning motion picture production under Steven Spielberg. Producer Suzanne Todd then brought her to Team Todd, where she contributed to films such as Boiler Room, Memento, Idle Hands, and HBO's If These Walls Could Talk. She later managed director Rob Cohen's company, collaborating on hits like The Fast and the Furious and XXX, and served as Associate Producer on Cohen's Stealth.
