Jon Bloom is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated filmmaker with extensive expertise as a director, producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor. With nearly five decades in the film industry, Bloom is a well-known expert in entertainment marketing.
An award-winning filmmaker, Jon Bloom has earned six Emmy nominations, a Clio Award along with six Clio nominations, numerous Hollywood Reporter Key Art Trailer Awards, and multiple film festival accolades. He received an Academy Award nomination as producer/director for the live-action short "Overnight Sensation," adapted from Somerset Maugham’s short story "The Colonel's Lady," starring Robert Loggia, Louise Fletcher, and Shari Belafonte. Besides the Oscar nod, the film won first-place honors at the Houston, Aspen, and American Film Festivals and is available on Apple iTunes.
Bloom served six terms as a Governor at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and currently chairs the Short Films and Feature Animation Branch. He was previously elected by the AMPAS Board as an Academy Officer. He has produced the Academy’s annual theatrical trailer promoting the Oscar telecast multiple times and created numerous special montages and tributes for the Academy Awards, Emmys, SAG Awards, and other televised events.

Early in his career, Bloom worked as an assistant director to Robert Wise and Robert Altman and as an assistant editor to Francis Ford Coppola on The Godfather Part II. His formative years in film advertising include founding and leading Seiniger/Bloom Productions and Intralink, as well as producing trailers and directing behind-the-scenes documentaries for Kaleidoscope Films.
