Biographie
Véronique Reymond is fluent in French (her native language), English, German, and Italian. She collaborates closely with Stéphanie Chuat as a "twin-engine" duo. Both actresses, they have been friends since childhood and have appeared in numerous theatrical productions together, also creating many shows as a stage duo. Their award-winning debut film, LA PETITE CHAMBRE (THE LITTLE BEDROOM), premiered in competition at the 2010 Locarno Film Festival. It was Switzerland's submission for the 2011 Academy Awards and won Best Fiction Film and Best Screenplay at the 2011 Swiss Film Awards. Their next feature, MY LITTLE SISTER (SCHWESTERLEIN), starring Nina Hoss (TÁR), Lars Eidinger, and Marthe Keller, premiered in the International Competition at Berlinale 2020. It was nominated for Best Motion Picture (International Film) at the 2021 Satellite Awards and won multiple awards at festivals, including five Quartz prizes at the 2021 Swiss Film Awards. MY LITTLE SISTER was also Switzerland's submission for Best International Feature Film at the 2021 Academy Awards. Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond have ventured into documentary filmmaking, directing three documentaries, including LES DAMES (LADIES). This film premiered at the Visions du Réel Film Festival and was selected by numerous festivals, earning a nomination for Best Documentary at the 2019 Swiss Film Awards. They also wrote and directed A LIVRE OUVERT (OPEN BOOK), a TV series aired on Swiss and French television. This success led them to create a new TV show, TOXIC, co-produced by Gaumont-France and RTS-Switzerland. In 2023, Chuat & Reymond serve as lead directors on TRANSATLANTIC, Anna Winger's (Unorthodox) upcoming Netflix series, starring Cory Michael Smith, Gillian Jacobs, Lucas Englander, Corey Stoll, and Grégory Montel. The series has been available on Netflix since April 7, 2023.
