Biographie
Johnny Seven, a prolific American character actor, was born John Anthony Fetto in the Italian neighborhood of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York, to parents Marie and John Fetto. He was the only son among six children, with five sisters named Lillian, Terry, Connie, Dolores, and Jean. Despite often portraying tough gangsters and criminals in his acting career, he was a boy soprano until the age of 14. He served two and a half years in the U.S. Army with the 187th Field Artillery Battalion and developed a passion for acting after performing in several USO shows during his service. On October 8, 1949, he married Edith Piselli, and they had two children, John Jr. and Laura. Seven worked extensively in the New York theater scene and appeared frequently on live television before Universal Pictures brought him to Hollywood in 1958 to appear in their numerous TV series. Over his career, he has appeared in more than 600 television shows, over 25 films, and numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions. Beyond acting, he has written and directed for stage, television, and film—his first play, "Salvage," was written in 1958. He also produced, directed, and starred in the 1964 western Navajo Run and has directed several TV shows and shorts since then. His hobbies include gardening, golf, and various types of fishing, particularly ocean, lake, and fly fishing.
