Biographie
Antonia "Toni" Garrn is a German fashion model, actress, and humanitarian. She rose to prominence in the fashion world after signing an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein in 2008. At age 15, Garrn made her runway debut as an exclusive model for the Calvin Klein Spring/Summer 2008 show in New York, subsequently starring in the brand's advertising campaign. She walked exclusively for Calvin Klein again the following season. During the 2009 fashion seasons, she participated in over 60 shows for top designers including Stella McCartney, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Dolce & Gabbana, and Michael Kors.
Garrn has graced the pages of Vogue (editions in Paris, Italy, Germany, Russia, China, Spain, Mexico, Japan, Korea, and the US), Muse, Elle (US, Italy, France), Numéro (France, Tokyo), Glamour (US), Marie-Claire (Italy), Another Magazine, Harper's Bazaar (US), i-D, and appeared on the covers of Tush and V magazines, ranking eighth among spring 2008 models. She also covered the February 2009 issue of Numéro for their 100th edition.
In early 2012, she re-entered the Top 50 Models Women list on the international modeling site models.com, ranking 20th. She first appeared on the list in 2009, reaching a peak position of 11th.
In 2014, Garrn partnered with German denim brand Closed to design her own line of jeans. Proceeds from sales of her Closed T-shirt and "Toni" jeans for women support a charity dedicated to educating young girls in Africa.
Her portfolio includes covers for French, Japanese, Chinese, German, and Russian editions of Numéro; German, Italian, Mexican, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, and Thai Vogue; German and South African GQ; as well as W, French, German, and Italian Elle, Madame Figaro, Muse, Harper's Bazaar, Allure, Glamour, The Edit, and Grazia.
Garrn has featured in advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein, Prada, Versace, Cartier (Fragrance), Jill Stuart, Fendi, Chloé, Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss, Zara, H&M, Dior, Donna Karan, JOOP!, Shiseido, Filippa K, J.Crew, Neiman Marcus, Givenchy (Makeup), Tommy Hilfiger, Juicy Couture, Massimo Dutti, Max Mara, Peek & Cloppenburg, Express, Ralph Lauren, Burberry, L'Oréal, Biotherm, NARS Cosmetics, Mango, Ann Taylor, Blumarine, Aigner, Lancel, Alexandre Vauthier, Elie Saab, Calzedonia, Seafolly, and Schwarzkopf.
Garrn began modeling for Victoria's Secret in 2011, initially appearing in catalogs for their clothing line. She walked in the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and participated in a photo shoot for the PINK line alongside model Shanina Shaik. Although she auditioned for the 2010 show, she was not selected that year. In November 2012, she returned to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, closing the event. She also walked in the 2013 and 2018 shows, returning after a break.
In 2014, Garrn became an ambassador for Plan International's global Because I Am a Girl campaign and has hosted several fundraising events supporting Plan's initiatives. In February 2016, she founded the Toni Garrn Foundation, which raises funds for projects promoting and advancing girls' rights.
