Biographie
Since deciding at a young age to pursue fame, Laurita has always enjoyed the love and support of her family, especially given that her siblings were already well-known in showbiz.
At 14, Laurita began performing with the music group Hermanos Y Amigos. Over the next three years, the group toured extensively through Holland, Spain, and Germany. Alongside her music career, Laurita dedicated herself to her studies and acting classes, which soon paid off. While presenting a Music Award in Tampico, a Spanish soap opera producer noticed her and offered her a role opposite the legendary Ignacio Lopez Tarzo in the soap opera El Combate. Despite this new opportunity, her passion for music remained strong.
In 1980, music producer Luis De Llano invited her to sing on the late-night music show Noche A Noche, hosted by the Mexican icon Veronica "Vero" Castro. Later, she starred in the comedy-musical Los Fantasticos but left the production to spend three months in Los Angeles, California, honing her craft. She then hosted a TV program where she interviewed artists like Menudo.
Laurita’s big break came when she recorded her first solo album, Barcos De Papel, which led to a tour across Mexico. In the mid-1980s, she met and fell in love with a Uruguayan songwriter, singer, and music producer. They married in 1986, delighting fans who admired them as a beautiful couple. He produced her subsequent albums and even sang a duet with her. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in divorce by 1989, leaving both heartbroken.
Laurita continued to pursue both singing and acting, appearing in numerous Spanish soap operas. Her latest project is debuting in the US to excellent reviews.
