Describing Tottie Goldsmith as "multi-talented" barely scratches the surface.
As a founding member of the band Chantoozies, Tottie toured extensively across Australia, appeared on countless entertainment programs, and sold over 200,000 records. After leaving the band, she pursued a solo career, continuing to sing and studying acting at the prestigious Beverly Hills Playhouse and Janet Alhanti's workshops in Los Angeles. Upon returning to Australia, Tottie secured the female lead in Beyond Production's Fire (1995), followed by a guest role in Bryan Brown's Twisted Tales (1996), acting alongside Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush.
Adding another skill to her repertoire, in 1996 Tottie became the host of Channel 10's controversial series Sex/Life, which became one of Australia's most talked-about shows. During this period, she also hosted Channel 10's coverage of the 1997 Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and the 40 Years of Television event. In 1997, Tottie showcased her versatility again by headlining Melbourne's top-rating breakfast program on TTFM. After exploring various opportunities in 1998, she accepted the role of "Miss Lynch" in the Arena Spectacular production of Grease, becoming part of a phenomenon in Australian box office history.
In 1998, Tottie portrayed "Janet" in The New Rocky Horror Show at Sydney's Star City. This role allowed her to combine her acting, singing, and dancing talents—a culmination of her experience. Despite her extensive career achievements, this was Tottie's first starring role in musical theatre, further highlighting her dynamic versatility. She also played "Susanne" in the comic farce Don't Dress For Dinner, which enjoyed huge success in London's West End. The Australian production featured Dennis Waterman, Jon English, and Sue Hodge of Allo Allo fame, touring Australia for four months to sold-out audiences.
Tottie then returned to television with a guest role on Channel 9's Stingers (1998), appeared in the strong ensemble cast of Beyond Simpson LeMesurier's telemovie Life airing on Channel 10, and acted in the feature film Visitors by Bayside Pictures—the producers behind Hotel Sorrento and Brilliant Lies—released in late 2003.
Over the past year, the corporate world has embraced Tottie. She has hosted launch events and corporate dinners and has made motivational speaking a priority, addressing audiences for companies such as RetireInvest, McDonald's, and Holden. She has also hosted numerous charity events including Clown Doctors, the RVIB Ball, TLC for Kids, and the annual Mothers Day Comedy Debate at Melbourne University.
In 2004, Tottie made another guest appearance on Stingers alongside Steve Bisley and completed an extended guest role on Blue Heelers.
Following the release of her meditation CD, Unwind Your Mind, late last year, Qantas announced it would feature the CD on their inflight Oasis Channel starting June 2005. Collaborating with sleep scientist Chris Bunney, Tottie researched, validated, and produced Falling Asleep with Tottie Goldsmith, the next CD in her series designed to help people with sleep difficulties.
In May 2005, Tottie eagerly volunteered to perform for troops in the Middle East. Over two weeks, she MC'd and sang across locations such as Kuwait and Baghdad with the Army Band Australia, while also offering deep relaxation classes to soldiers at army bases.
