Screenwriter Christina Welsh is renowned for penning "If Only," the romantic drama featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Tom Wilkinson, and for winning the 2020 Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing, TV Movie, for "Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey."
"If Only" achieved strong ratings on ABC Family, became an international theatrical hit, and continues to air regularly worldwide. It was the opening night film at the Sarasota Film Festival, where Christina received the Mark P. Famiglio Award for Excellence in Filmmaking.
"Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey" premiered on Lifetime on September 30, 2018. The film earned eight award nominations and three wins, including Best TV Movie at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards.
Her film "Addicted," a provocative thriller based on Zane’s best-selling novel and starring Sharon Leal, Boris Kodjoe, and William Levy, debuted in theaters on October 10, 2014.
Prior to becoming a full-time screenwriter, Christina worked as an entertainment reporter at Power 106-FM, then the top radio station in Los Angeles. She covered major events like the Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globes, interviewing stars such as Tom Hanks, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Costner, and Clint Eastwood.
A SAG/AFTRA member, Christina also has a diverse acting background, with voiceover, theater, and film credits including the movie "Midnight Witness." She wrote and performed in comedy showcases at the Groundlings Theater and co-created and starred in two long-running live Hollywood theater productions, including a full-length musical and a sketch comedy and improv show that ran for over two years.
