Biographie
Behzad Dabu is an actor, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles. Raised in Syracuse, NY, he earned his BFA in Acting from Columbia College Chicago, where he later served as Senior International Admissions Officer, traveling globally to assist students and their families in pursuing careers in the arts. He has an extensive stage background, performing at top theaters across the country, particularly in Chicago. He is a proud company member of TimeLine Theatre Company and a founding member of The Chicago Inclusion Project. On screen, he is known for his roles as Simon Drake on ABC's How To Get Away With Murder and Amir on Showtime's The Chi. His television appearances also include The Good Place, All Rise, Chicago P.D., Drive Share, Dealbreakers, and You're So Talented. His film credits include Hoop, King Rat, Imperfections, Older Children, along with numerous national commercials. Passionate about new play development, he originated the role of Amit in Samsara at Victory Gardens Theatre, earning a Jeff Award nomination for Best Actor. He also originated the role of Abe in the Pulitzer Prize-winning and Tony-nominated Disgraced, performing at American Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Berkeley Repertory, Seattle Repertory, and the Mark Taper Forum at Center Theatre Group. As a producer, he worked on Unexpected Joy, which saw successful runs in New York and London, and served as Executive Producer for Ike Holter's play Put Your House in Order. Currently, Behzad is developing an hour-long television drama with Marcus Gardley and a feature film with Ike Holter.
