Biographie
Melanie Pilon, an actor and director from Montreal, Canada, began her acting career in 2003. Since then, she has appeared in over 30 television series, including Plan B, Chaos, Alertes, Comme dés têtes pas de poules, Jenny, Unité 9, Les Ex, Lance et compte, Toute la vérité, and Mémoires vives. On the big screen, she has been featured in La Petite Reine, directed by Alexis Durand-Brault, and Inès, directed by Renée Beaulieu. For the past eight years, she has also conducted acting workshops for both beginners and professionals and served as an in-house acting coach for various television dramas.
Eager to broaden her skills, she wrote, directed, and starred in Assises, her first short film, in 2016, which won several awards on the festival circuit. This was followed by Trapped, a web series created during the intensive Director's Program at l'INIS film school. Trapped received numerous nominations worldwide, including Best Director and Best Student Series at the Sydney Web Fest, and Best French Canadian Series at the T.O. Webfest 2021. Last year, she directed two short films: Judith Baribeau's poignant drama Worthy and Tanya Henri's comedy Mission Cohesion. Worthy was selected for the Rouyn-Noranda Film Festival and the RVCQ 2023, while Mission Cohesion is set to begin its festival run in 2023.
