Biographie
Laura Ganis is a seasoned and adaptable producer with credits on National Geographic, History, Discovery, Travel, A&E, TLC, and CNN, among others. She served as second unit Production Supervisor on the Universal Pictures feature film Big Miracle and has produced for programs including Modern Marvels, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, ABC World News, and NBC Nightly News. Additionally, she produced and acted as senior archival researcher for two national PBS documentaries.
Laura was a field producer for PBS' The Ride, traveling across the country with disadvantaged youth as they explored and documented social justice issues, a project that earned an award from the UN National Educational Media Network. She also worked as production coordinator and researcher on About Face, a feature-length documentary on child abuse and mental illness, which received an Award of Excellence from The Accolade Competition. Her documentaries have won accolades from the National Geographic All Roads Film Festival, the United Nations Association Film Festival, and the American Indian Film Festival.
Laura began her career on MTV’s The Real World, featuring Pedro Zamora, a groundbreaking real-life character living with AIDS. She has experience in nearly every production role, from audio technician to assistant editor to production assistant. Most recently, she was Producer/Fixer on the National Geographic documentary series Nature Calls and One Strange Rock, produced by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky. Laura works locally in Alaska, Boston, and New York City.
