Biographie
Giorgio Bruno was born in Catania on August 5, 1985. He began his career in the film industry by creating self-produced short films. At 21, he started working as a backstage writer for various films and TV series, later becoming a production assistant. In 2013, he co-founded Explorer Entertainment with Angelo D'Agate, through which he produced his first feature film, "The Perfect Husband," directed by Lucas Pavetto. This violent and bloody thriller, shot entirely in English, was crafted for a global audience. The film received significant acclaim at international festivals, winning the "Los Angeles Horror Competition" and the "Fantafestival" in 2014. That same year, Bruno served as executive producer for "The Voyage," a dramatic road movie starring Gerard Depardieu.
In 2015, he produced the horror film "Bite" alongside young independent producer Emanuele Moretti. Directed by Alberto Sciamma, the film featured a strong cast including Vinnie Jones ("X-Men: The Last Stand," "EuroTrip") and Costas Mandylor ("The Saw" franchise). "Bite" garnered positive reviews and was showcased at the Sitges Festival. It was also the first film entirely post-produced by Explorer Entertainment's in-house lab.
Also in 2015, Giorgio Bruno co-produced and directed his debut film, "Almost Dead," a horror-drama set entirely in a car, aimed at the international market. Alongside it came "Unhinged," a visionary thriller directed by Giorgio Serafini, starring Sean Patrick Flanery ("Powder," "Dexter") and Eric Balfour ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), filmed entirely in the United States. Both films secured strong foreign distribution, establishing their presence in the global market.
In 2016, Bruno began a new international production featuring notable actors Dominique Swain ("Face/Off," "Lolita") and William McNamara ("Copycat") in "Deprivation," a horror/sci-fi film directed by Brian Skiba.
In early 2017, Giorgio Bruno wrote, produced, and directed his second film, "My Little Baby," a tribute to 1980s horror movies. Shot entirely in Florida, USA, the film features a distinguished cast, including John Ashton, known for his role as Sergeant Taggart in "Beverly Hills Cop," and Jeremy Sande, co-star of the thriller "Deepwater Horizon" directed by Peter Berg.
