Biographie
Anna Higgs is a creative leader collaborating with outstanding storytellers to connect their work with audiences in diverse ways, while championing inclusion and equity at the highest strategic and operational levels across the creative industries.
She is an independent producer, consultant, and Q&A host. In addition, Anna writes a monthly column titled 'Ask Anna' for Creative Review, focusing on career coaching, workplace culture, and professional growth for creatives.
Previously, Anna served as Managing Director of Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, leading a team of agents and executives representing top talent in film, theatre, TV, and new media. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in London, this fiercely independent global agency boasts a prestigious history, representing many of the world’s leading writers, directors, playwrights, theatre creatives, literary properties, and department heads.
Before her time at Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, Anna was Director of Entertainment Partnerships at Meta and prior to that, Creative Director at the global culture channel NOWNESS. There, she united emerging and established filmmakers with innovative audience strategies, developing, commissioning, producing, and distributing numerous series and films while curating thousands of acquired shorts. She also led the initiative to achieve 50/50 gender-balanced commissioning across all editorial and branded content, and orchestrated a strategic restructure that culminated in a successful merger with China’s Modern Media and Dazed Media Group.
Earlier in her career, Anna was a commissioner and Head of Digital at Film4, driving cinematic innovation with projects such as Ben Wheatley’s A Field in England, Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s 20,000 Days on Earth, Ken Loach’s The Spirit of ’45, and Lenny Abrahamson’s Frank. This role built upon her extensive experience as an independent producer working across film, TV, and digital formats.
Anna has been recognized as one of Creative Review’s 'Creative Leaders 50', alongside figures like Felix Barrett, Gorillaz, and Maria Balshaw. In 2012, she was named among the inaugural Time Out 'Culture 100', celebrating the UK’s most original and influential innovators, visionaries, and pioneers in creative and media industries, alongside luminaries such as Danny Boyle, Stella McCartney, Grayson Perry, Jonathan Ive, Zadie Smith, Thomas Heatherwick, and Alan Rusbridger.
