Robert Wisdom brings a powerful, profound, and cool presence to every role he takes on, spanning commercial successes and bold, dynamic performances in various new films. He gained widespread critical acclaim for his role on HBO's The Wire. Wisdom also appeared in The Hawk Is Dying at the Sundance Film Festival, alongside Paul Giamatti, Michelle Williams, and Michael Pitt. Additionally, he played a key part in the Oscar-winning film Ray, starring Jamie Foxx. His versatility shines through in movies such as Storytelling with Selma Blair, Duplex opposite Drew Barrymore and Ben Stiller, Barbershop 2: Back in Business alongside Cedric the Entertainer, and The Forgotten starring Julianne Moore. Wisdom also starred in the independent feature Coastlines, directed by Victor Nunez. For director Michael Radford's Dancing at the Blue Iguana, co-starring Daryl Hannah and Jennifer Tilly, he dedicated five months to improvisation work to develop his character. His television achievements include the critically praised series Cracker, starring opposite Robert Pastorelli. Other credits feature If These Walls Could Talk with Demi Moore and Sahara. Raised in Washington, D.C., Robert Wisdom is the middle child of three in a Jamaican family. He attended St. Alban's School in D.C. before earning a degree in history and economics from Columbia University in New York. Beyond acting, Wisdom has a deep passion for world music, playing several percussion instruments such as Cuban drums, and has traveled extensively to pursue this interest.
