Biographie
Born in Mexico City, David Siqueiros grew up in an artistic family. His father, David Siqueiros "Tabaquito," was a successful bullfighter across Spain, Mexico, and South America. His mother, Estela Trueba, a dancer from the prestigious Mexican National Ballet Academy, was also a founding member of the renowned Ballet Folklorico. His uncle, the world-famous muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros, greatly influenced his passion for filmmaking. David's interest began in the late 1980s when he worked as a reporter for Mexico's leading newspaper, "El Heraldo."
In 1983, David immigrated to Los Angeles, where he worked as a reporter for the top Spanish-language newspaper in the U.S. and later became a TV producer-director for KMEX-TV. He then joined the Univision Network, directing "Mundo Latino," a daily variety show broadcast live throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America on the first Latin satellite network. Settling in the U.S., he attended film school at UCLA and LACC, eventually securing a position as producer-director for the highly rated Italian show "Telemike," a variety program broadcast live via satellite from exotic locations worldwide.
In 1988, he founded "Via Hollywood," a multilingual entertainment programming service for networks such as U.S. Telemundo and Univision, Mexico's Televisa, Swiss TV Romande, and Hispanic-related stories for Entertainment Tonight, TNT Network, and others. In 1990, he produced his first film project, the single "Mami yo te quiero," which became the first Spanish rap song nominated for an MTV award that year. He quickly organized some of the most memorable campaigns in the Spanish market. His company was the first to develop, cast, and produce major commercial spots in Spanish using an innovative two-minute format for Dailey & Associates Advertising and its key client, Ford Motor Company.
David has created, written, and directed TV campaigns for clients such as Kia Motors America, Toyota Motors, Shiseido Cosmetics, and Arrowhead Water, as well as music videos for stars like Thalia and Patricia Manterola. His work earned him an invitation as a guest director for the "Angeles" series for Tri-Star TV and the Telemundo Network. He is currently in post-production on "One Long Night," his first full-length feature film, which he wrote, produced, and directed, starring Jon Seda, Alison Eastwood, Paul Rodriguez, and Karen Black.
