Biographie
Neil Willenson is an actor, corporate executive, and leader in the non-profit sector. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous films, commercials, and live theater productions, including a recent portrayal of Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof at Milwaukee's Next Act Theater.
Willenson founded Camp Heartland, now known as One Heartland, a national non-profit dedicated to supporting children affected by HIV/AIDS throughout the year and their lives. He also co-founded Camp Hometown Heroes, a summer camp for children of fallen U.S. service members, and Camp Reunite, an innovative program for children with incarcerated parents.
The Camp Heartland program and Willenson have been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dateline NBC, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, TIME Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Progressive Magazine, USA Today, and other media outlets. They were also spotlighted in the CBS Movie of the Week "Angelie's Secret," narrated by Julia Roberts, the Disney Channel film "Friends for Life," Good Morning America, CBS Morning News, numerous talk shows, and the feature film "Born with HIV: Little Warriors."
In 2008, GQ Magazine honored Willenson as one of their "Men of the Year." PEOPLE magazine named him among the "50 Top Bachelors" in their Most Eligible Bachelor issue. Now married to fine artist Adria Rosenthal Willenson, he is the father of two children: Joshua, an actor, and Alanna, a musician and singer.
