Biographie
Matthew "Matt" Singletary was born on February 22, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mike Singletary, a former Chicago Bears NFL player (1981-1992), and Kim Singletary. He grew up in a large family with six siblings: one brother, John, and five sisters—Kristen, Jill, Jackie, Brooke, and Becky. Following his father's path, Matt played football in high school in San Jose, California, serving as a defensive end and offensive lineman. He graduated from San Jose Valley Christian High School in 2007 and enrolled at Baylor University that same year, the college his father attended from the late 1970s until 1980 before entering the NFL. Matt began at Baylor as a freshman defensive end, played as a redshirt freshman in 2008, and became a redshirt sophomore in 2009. In 2010, he transferred to West Valley College in Saratoga, California, and later moved to California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), where he majored in Sociology and played 11 games as a defensive end during his first year.
Matt later pursued a career in entertainment. Standing 6'4" with an athletic build, the former college football player made his screen debut in 2014 with an appearance on Chicago P.D. He landed his first leading role in the 2015 action film Hood. The following year, he appeared on the musical comedy How to Be a Vampire (2016) and the series Roommates (2016), for which he also contributed as a writer. Additionally, he appeared in Chance (2016) and iZombie (2015).
