Biographie
Jimmy Hibbert, born James Christian Hibbert on July 15, 1949, in Windsor, Berkshire, England, is an actor and writer best known for his work on Count Duckula (1988), The BFG (1989), Noddy's Toyland Adventures (1992), Frankenstein's Cat (2007), and Little Red Tractor (2003).
He is the eldest of three children born to author Christopher Hibbert and Susan Hibbert. All three siblings were raised in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. His younger brother was the late music journalist Tom Hibbert. After studying drama at the University of Manchester, Hibbert teamed up with CP Lee and Bob Harding to form the band Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias in 1972, where he contributed vocals and bass. The band disbanded in 1982, after which Hibbert landed his first voice acting role for the Milk Marketing Board, performing an impression of Ian Dury.
In addition to his voice work in animation, Hibbert has appeared on British television and in films, including roles in Coronation Street, What the Papers Say, Cold Feet, The Grand, Medics, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Prime Suspect, Children's Ward, Wipe Out, Floodtide, Room at the Bottom, The Practice, Teach Yourself Gibberish, and Bloody Kids.
In 1977, he starred as Norman Sleak in the musical play Sleak, performed by Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias at London's Royal Court Theatre and Roundhouse.
