Biographie
John Jester is a Producer, Actor, and Writer originally from Alabama, with roots stretching through Chicago. A graduate of Rhodes College, John moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to pursue a career in entertainment - initially through acting and music - where he discovered a deeper passion for storytelling and performance.
A lifelong musician who also studied music in college, John plays both guitar and saxophone - influences that continue to shape his creative voice and approach to storytelling today.
In the early 2010s, John performed throughout Los Angeles while writing music for placements, including work associated with HBO's TRUE BLOOD. At the same time, he pursued acting under renowned teacher Eric Morris, appearing in commercials and independent short films. But somewhere between auditions, late-night writing sessions, and long production days, he found himself increasingly drawn behind the camera - toward producing, writing, and building stories from the ground up.
After stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers, United Talent Agency, and several production companies across Los Angeles, John founded Boy Blue Media, a production company focused on commercial, branded, and narrative storytelling. Since then, he has worked as an Executive Producer and Director on projects spanning global brands including NIKE and UNIVERSAL, music artists such as JASON ALDEAN, documentaries, and commercial campaigns - blending cinematic storytelling with emotionally grounded, human-driven work.
Known for his unconventional path into the industry, John's work is shaped as much by the winding road behind him as the productions ahead.
He still writes music, steps in front of the camera every now and then when the role feels right, and continues chasing the kind of stories that leave a mark long after the credits roll.
