Biographie
Chloe Bayliss, a Helpmann Award nominee and finalist for the prestigious 2016 Heath Ledger Scholarship, is one of Australia's most prominent emerging actresses with extensive credits in both theatre and film.
She is best known for her role as Hayley in the main ensemble of Nine Network's acclaimed drama Doctor Doctor (Seasons 1-5). Her television appearances also include Love Child, Reef Doctors, Dance Academy, and Deadly Women. On film, Chloe featured in Michael Petroni's Backtrack alongside Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Sam Neill, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. She starred in the short film Driftwood Dustmites, showcased at the Berlin Film Festival. More recently, Chloe took the lead in Ruby Challenger's short film Mumlife, which was selected for competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival – La Cinef. In 2023, she continued her collaboration with the Mumlife team, producing and acting in the 20-episode web series NEXT.
On stage, Chloe performed opposite Marta Dusseldorp in the critically acclaimed Gloria for Griffin Theatre Company. Her theatre credits include An Assorted Few’s Home Invasion, Red Line Productions’ The Whale, Ensemble Theatre’s Charitable Intent, Rapture Blister Burn, Circle Mirror Transformation (earning her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2012 GLUG Theatre Awards), as well as The Good Doctor and Boxing Day BBQ.
Chloe is also an accomplished writer, having published her memoir En Pointe to five-star reviews in late 2019.
When not acting, Chloe is immersed in dance. With over 15 years of experience as a choreographer, dance teacher, and adjudicator, she trained under Marie Walton-Mahon OAM (founder of PBT) at the National College of Dance, graduating with a Diploma of Dance and Performance (High Distinction) in 2009. She excelled in the RAD syllabus, achieving High Distinction in every Vocational Grade exam. At 16, she earned placements at the Washington Ballet School (final pre-professional year) and Joffrey Ballet School. Her dance credits include Mystic Ballet Company, Dance Academy, and the musical Mumlife. She has choreographed for TV series such as The Twelve (Binge/Foxtel) and Doctor Doctor (Channel 9), as well as the stage production Who’s Afraid. Chloe has taught at multiple dance studios across Australia.
She is a proud patron of the charity group Hanka and serves as an ambassador for Australia Says No More and The Red Cross Lifeblood Service.
