Biographie
Romeo Reyes, born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, is the third son of Danilo and Amelia Reyes.
A versatile creative, Romeo is an actor, singer-songwriter, tattoo artist, transgender advocate, and model. His artistic path is driven by a commitment to authentic storytelling and community empowerment.
Romeo began his acting career in the short film In The Deep, directed by Nimisha Mukerji and Orsy Szabó, playing a tattoo artist. He later took on the female role of Carmen in the award-winning short horror film Dia De Los Muertos, directed by Gigi Saul Guerrero. He also portrayed a tattoo artist in the popular TV series Supernatural and appeared in Arrow alongside Colton Haynes and David Ramsey. Most recently, he played a transgender man in Dinner with Dex, the directorial debut of Olivia Cheng.
As a singer-songwriter, Romeo has performed at charity events, LGBTQ+ gatherings, and fashion and art shows across Vancouver, Seattle, and Hawaii.
In 2016, Romeo launched his first tattoo studio, Zen Tattoo, in Vancouver, specializing in Asian and floral designs. He expanded with a second studio in Richmond, B.C., in January 2019.
A prominent voice in the transgender community, Romeo created and directed Interview of the Month!, a video series filmed by Nathalie De Los Santos that explores diverse transgender experiences. He has also documented the changes in his vocal range during his gender transition, providing visibility and encouragement to others on similar journeys.
Alongside Nathalie De Los Santos, Romeo co-created the series "Futr Azn," which seeks to inspire and empower the next generation of Asian entrepreneurs and creatives by showcasing visionary voices and stories from the Asian community.
Romeo has been featured on CBC Radio One’s "On The Coast" with Gloria Macarenko’s Future of Gender segment, CBC’s The Early Edition with Stephen Quinn, Cold Tea Collective’s "The Story of Us," Soju Events’ "United By Love" campaign, Vancouver Pride Society’s Pride Premiere Event, Jeepney Cafe Radio, OMNI Filipino TV with Rhea Santos, and Lisa Betts-Lacroix’s Super Power U podcast (Pride Special Episode 80). He also appeared in the #UnapologeticallyAsian campaign and Orange County Pride 2020.
Through his creative and advocacy efforts, Romeo continues to uplift LGBTQ+ youth, the transgender community, and People of Colour, standing as a proud and resilient voice for inclusion, representation, and empowerment.
